What the Chamber is all about?
What is your Chamber? The Chamber is a voluntary partnership of business and professional people working as a team to build a healthy economy. The Chamber also tries to get the businesses actively involved in the community. After all it is the community that frequent your businesses.
As the Eastpointe - Roseville Chamber works to accomplish these goals, it has many hats: business educator, business spokesperson, economic development, public relations, event planner, fundraiser, etc.
Who are the Members? The Eastpointe - Roseville Chamber consists of over 200 businesses, organizations and individuals that are concerned with the socio-economic climate of our community. These businesses have joined together because they know they stand a better chance of getting things done when they speak as one voice.
Who leads your Chamber? The Chamber is run by its members, whom elect a Board of Directors that determine policies, develop programs and set goals. The Executive Director, Catherine Green, handles the Chamber's day-to-day operations. In our Chamber, it is a part time position.
Members are welcomed to become involved in committees like the Ambassadors, Special Events, Economic Development, Operations and Finance, Public Relations, Membership Development, and the Auction Committee.
What are the objectives of the Chamber? As the Chamber works to improve the community economy and quality of life, we also try to help business prosper, increase job opportunities, encourage development, contribute economic stability and promote the nation's private enterprise system of competitive marketing.
What are the activities of your Chamber? Training Programs, Euchre Party’s, Deck the Hall’s Auction, Wine Tasting After Hours Mixer, Health Expo, Michigan Week Awards Dinner, Music in the Park, Coffee Hours, Wheelin Women’s Car Show, State of the City Address, Administration Professional Lunch, providing business resources, promoting community activities, and much more. How does the Chamber accomplish these activities? The Chamber has an organizational structure, which includes bylaws, policies and procedure for coordinating volunteers and programs of work. We have dedicated leaders that use their time and talent to accomplish meaningful activities. The Chamber also relies on its members, not only to volunteer but also to attend these functions.
The Chamber of Commerce relies on its membership to work on committees and provide necessary financing. We work together to make a better community for the businesses.
